The war on Christmas

Today at work a woman called and our conversation went like this:

Woman: I saw your ad in Homes Magazine. It said "Happy Holidays." I was wondering what holiday is was.
Me: ... Excuse me?
Woman: What holiday is it?
Me: Christmas.
Woman: That's right. (Click)

Now, it's not that I do not understand her point. I'm a Christian, I celebrate Christmas. As a matter of fact that are several devout Christians in my office. (To clarify, we even had another ad in the newspaper that said "Merry Christmas.") That said, I do not understand how people rationalize being rude to other people for the sake of Christmas. What sense does it make to make a "war" out of the arrival of the Prince of Peace? This is another one of the reason's Christians look like such jerks to other people. We have our priorities completely mixed up. If you want to celebrate Christmas, don't spend your time calling local businesses and being rude because of their ads. Celebrate Christmas by being Christ-like. There's enough war already in this world. Let's please not go around making more of it.

Matisyahu

I know it's not a new song, but I love Matisyahu's "Jerusalem (out of darkness comes light)." It makes me happy.
